CORNWALL – WHY RELOCATING HERE MAY BE THE BEST DECISION YOU EVER MAKE

By Ben Smith of RoyaleLife
It may come as no surprise that last year, Cornwall was voted one of the best places to retire to in the country.
Enjoying beautiful scenery, low crime rates and an enviable amount of Michelin Star restaurants (for all you foodies out there), it is no wonder why a quarter of the population is aged 65 and over. *
So, what draws RoyaleLife residents to Cornwall? We take a look at two of our favourite locations in the county, which we are proud to call home. Read on to discover more…
Saltash
Our brand-new Dolbeare Court development, located in the picturesque town of Saltash, has welcomed residents who have not only come to the area to enjoy its fantastic selection of amenities, but also its rich history and heritage that spans centuries.
Ideal for history-buffs and day-trippers, the development lies less than 6 miles from the iconic Royal Albert Bridge and Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s famous railway bridge built in 1859, while the stunning Estates of Cotehele and Pentillie Castle lie less than half an hour drive away. You could even pop into Saltash Heritage museum to swot up on your knowledge of the local area.
For those seeking leisure opportunities of the more adventurous kind, buyers will be pleased to discover the development’s close proximity to the River Tamar. The much-loved 60-mile stretch of water has been named as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and plays host to a number of fantastic angling spots as well as a popular sailing and kayaking community. Prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground? Why not discover the breathtaking Dartmoor National Park, with its wild, open moorlands and deep river valleys, laying just 13 miles east of Dolbeare Court.

Widemouth Bay
Homebuyers on the hunt for easy seaside living need to look no further than the popular coastal location of Widemouth Bay, home to RoyaleLife’s popular development, Meadowlands Court.
Perfect for beach-lovers, the shore is just waiting to be discovered just 1.2 miles west of the development. What better way to while away a sunny afternoon with the grandkids while they play in the sand and rock pools? You could even try a spot of paddleboarding if you’re feeling adventurous!
For those looking for fantastic amenities and leisure activities, the picturesque town of Bude lies just 3.3 miles north. What we love about Bude is that it offers something for everyone, including a number of pet-friendly attractions for days out with your four-legged friends. Both our developments in Cornwall are pet-friendly and we often welcome residents who are dog-owners.
We often find that they are particularly pleased to hear that there are many places to visit in the area that can accommodate the whole family. These include Pencarrow House, which allows get-togethers in the garden during the summer months, the National Lobster Hatchery and even Haywoods Cider Farm. And, if you have a pooch that needs to stretch its legs for longer, you can enjoy more outdoor space for “walkies” at Tamar Lake Country Park, Northcott Mouth Beach, or even Widemouth Bay Beach itself.
