NEW FORDINGBRIDGE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY WITH APPEAL TO VETERANS AND THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED SET TO LAUNCH THIS AUTUMN

Share

A new Fordingbridge retirement community created with special appeal to veterans and ex-emergency services staff is set to open later this month. Built and designed for those who have served, the attractive development will provide a unique opportunity for anyone retired to join a high-quality, independent living community of like-minded individuals in the idyllic Hampshire town.

Chevrons is holding a launch event from 11am to 3pm on the 21st of October 2023 which is open to all members of the public and is free to attend.

Guests on the day will be welcomed with a drinks reception upon arrival, accompanied by the rousing sounds of The Gershwin Gang that will be playing swing and jazz from the 40s and 50s. After a short introduction from CEO Barry Robbins, attendees will have ample opportunity to explore the development, enjoy refreshments, and speak with the Chevrons Living Team, who will be on hand to offer guided tours and answer any questions visitors may have.

Mayor Cllr Peter White will also be in attendance and will do the honours during the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. This will be followed by a flag-raising ceremony and then Fordingbridge Museum will host an exclusive talk titled ‘Fordingbridge in Wartime’. There will be a workshop to create a community poppy wreath with all donations going to the Royal British Legion running throughout the event. All guests can take part in placing a poppy. There will also be a royal and military themed quiz to take part in with some exciting prizes to be won.

Situated at the gateway to the New Forest, Chevrons Living is home to 10 beautifully designed studios – all with double beds and some with separate living areas. All the accommodation is en-suite and comes with wardrobes, beds, furniture and small kitchens or kitchenettes available for immediate rent. Residents will also have access to a community “hub” room, with local information and computer access as well as an elegant dining area with an in-house chef. There will be different catering options available from breakfast, half board and full board.

Outside there are beautifully landscaped community gardens with a barbecue and patio area, while the crown jewel of the development is the stylish Elizabeth Bar. The bar will offer residents of Chevrons Living the chance to socialise within the community, enjoy entertainment, and participate in activities organised by the newly formed Escape Committee, including visits to local attractions and nearby historical sites.

Barry Robbins, CEO of Chevrons Living is looking forward to the event. He said: “We are proud to present Chevrons Living to Fordingbridge, marking a new chapter in the New Forest’s rich military history. The development is ideal for retirees or those who are widowed and wish to maintain their independence while having opportunities to socialise. It promises an active community, offering the very best for our senior citizens.

“We welcome all members of the community to this special day. Attendance is free, but we kindly request that those interested contact Chevrons in advance to be added to the guest list. Email chevrons@paduacommunications.com or ring 01425 200248 to register your place.”
