FRESH START FOR LEEDS HOMEOWNER SEEKING LOWER BILLS AND A HASSLE‑FREE HOME

After years of managing a larger home and the constant upkeep that came with it, Caroline Wainwright was ready for a simpler way of living.
Caroline wanted a new property that felt comfortable, efficient and easy to maintain, without big energy bills or endless DIY jobs, and all without moving from Leeds.
“I needed to move as my old property started to feel too big for me on my own,” said Caroline, 66. “As I’m getting older, I wanted a house that was smaller with less maintenance.”
Caroline, a part-time civil servant, who lived in Cross Gates, began her search for a new property focusing on East Leeds. She eventually chose a Redrow home at Centurion Fields development, located off Manston Lane.
“I decided to look at new build properties because I realised it would save me from having to bring in different tradespeople for alterations and I didn’t want the disruption or inconvenience that comes with all of that,” said Caroline.
“When I was viewing development, aesthetically the whole look of Redrow’s were far superior to others and they offered a broader selection of properties.
“I live on my own so wanted a two-bedroom property. I wanted a separate lounge and kitchen, and Redrow were the only homebuilder who could offer me that.”
Caroline chose the two-bedroom Ledbury, which boasts a spacious kitchen and dining room stretching across the rear of the property, along with a separate lounge and cloakroom. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms each with its own en-suite.
“My favourite room is the kitchen/dining area as it’s so spacious. It’s south facing, so it’s constantly bathed in sunlight, even during the winter when the sun manages to break through, thanks to the amount of space on both the windows and patio door.” said Caroline.
“The design of the kitchen is beautiful, and I love the patio area outside too. The house has been so warm during the winter months and is very economical to run. I’m constantly learning how the heat source pump technology works but it absolutely does.”
Once complete, Centurion Fields will feature 200 properties, with a selection of two, three and four-bedroom designs from Redrow’s popular Heritage Collection inspired by the Arts and Crafts era. All include the home builder’s Eco Electric specification and modern interior design.
“My home buying journey with Redrow has been amazing,” added Caroline.
“I cannot praise the team enough. The help and support I’ve received since the first day I entered the sales office to the months after I moved in, has been second to none.
“The site team has assisted and supported me with any issues and queries with patience and understanding, making my Redrow experience truly wonderful.”
